People think Halloween originated with the
Christian holiday “Hallows Eve” or “All Saints Day”, but it didn’t, and it’s NOT a Christian
holiday, and it never was a Christian holiday. However, it was a Roman Catholic
holiday, to worship and pray to the Saints of the dead, which is idolatry, even though they were honoring those who were martyrs.
"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful
even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret." Ephesians 5:11-12
"Learn not the way of the heathen" Jeremiah 10:2
"No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God;
and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot
partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons." 1 Cor. 10:20, 21
All Hallows Eve was celebrated in
May when it was originated by the Catholic Church, but in 834 AD it was moved from May to October in order to combine it with
an ancient Druid festival in October. At this point in history, the Catholic
Church was growing and trying to convert the masses. The church felt it would
be easier to convert the masses to Christian worship by combining the existing pagan celebrations with traditional catholic-Christian
holidays, feasts or celebrationsThe Druid and Celtic people still had their
holiday, it was celebrated in the name of the church.
The origin of Halloween began some
2,000 years ago.Even as far back as 300 years before the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Celts an ancient Druid who lived in what is now England, France,
Scotland, Germany,
Wales. They celebrated the festival of Samhain on October
31st.Samhain is their god of death and their most powerful god.Every year on this day, they believe, the old year dies and the New Year begins. It is the Celtic New Year, as well as the Festival of Samhain, The Festival of Death. He is particularly honored on this day, but more especially on this night; and
the great climactic moment will come at midnight. Many human sacrifices are to be presented to Samhain (Lord of Death), and midnight
is the high moment of the year for divination, spiritualism and sorcery of all kinds.
The Druidicalpeople believed that on this eve of this festival Samhain, (Lord of Death), calls together all the wicked
evil spirits that within the past 12 months that had been condemned to inhabit the bodies of animals. It was believed that he would then decide what animal form they would take for the next year. The souls of the good dead were reincarnated as humans. They
also believed the evil souls of the dead were supposed to revisit their original homes on this day to wreak mayhem and havoc
on the living.Druid priest led the people in diabolical worship ceremonies in
which horses, cats, black sheep, oxen, human beings and other offerings were rounded up, stuffed into wicker cages and burned
to death. This was done to appease Samhain and keep spirits from harming them.It is clear to see that HALLOWEEN HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CELEBRATION OF DEATH.
The Holy Bible Reads:
Do I mean then that a sacrifice
offered to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, but the sacrifices
of pagans are offered to demons/devils, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons/devils.You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons/devils too; you cannot have a part in both the
Lord’s Table and the table of demons/devils.1 Cor. 19-21/NIV
In the British Isles, All Saints Day came to be called
“All Hallo weds” since it was a day to worship all the “hallowed ones,” the Christian dead.Since Samhain always occurred the evening before all Hallo weds, it came to be called “All Hallo
weds Evening” or just “Hallo weds E’en.”From this it
evolved to “Hallows E’en and finally to today “Halloween” as we know it today.Because of the relationship in the names, and the adjacent dates, many today entertain the completely
unfounded idea that Halloween is somehow a Christian holiday. This has made it
much easier for the ungodly festival to move into the churches each October with Harvest Fest or October Fest and flourish
therein, spreading its occulttic poison. In the late 1800’s, it was customary
for English Catholics to assemble at midnight on Halloween to pray for the souls
of their departed friends. In earlier times, people took special bread called
“souls” to the cemeteries, placing it on the graves. The people ate
these “soul cakes” because they were thought to be a powerful antidote against any flames of purgatory that might
be invoked by returning ghosts. At dusk the festival changed from All Saints
Day to all Souls Eve.Lit candles were placed on graves and in windows to guide
the dead back home (This is the meaning of burning candles, which is idolatry and witchcraft). The Catholic Church is a work of idolatry and witchcraft. It origin is
really of “Occult” which comes from the Latin word occultus, meaning “to cover-up, hide, or conceal.”Its purpose is to deceive you, do not be deceived.
In the midst of the darkness that prevailed during the Middle Ages (Medieval
times) there was a mighty revival of witchcraft and Satanism.During this time
there developed the belief that on October 31st witches traveled to their covens flying on brooms, guided by evil spirits
in the form of black cats. There was a great outpouring of satanic power, and
all the old practices continue to this day.
The True Meanings:
The Jack-o-lantern: Hundreds of years before Christ, on Halloween night each Druid dressed
in hooded robes and has slung over his shoulder on a cord, a large, hallowed-out turnip with an oil lamp burning inside. Carved
into the side of the hollow turnip is a face, in an attempt to ward off evil spirits.
When the Celtics immigrated to
the New World
they found pumpkins, much easier to hollow out and carve than turnips. Among the English-speaking Celts the hollowed turnip
or pumpkin was known as "Jock (or Jack) of the Lantern." referring to the spirit guide (Jock or Jack) who lived in them. Lore
has it that Jack, was too bad to get into heaven but wasn't permitted into hell because of a deal he had made with the devil,
supposedly wanders the earth holding a carved turnip with a glowing coal from hell as his guide. This is "Jack's lantern."
"Trick or Treating": The Druids of old adhered to strange dietary restrictions,
and on the night of the Festival of Death they go from home to home demanding these peculiar foods. If the people comply,
they pass on in silence; if their demands are not met, the people and their home are cursed with trouble, sickness and death.
Costumes: The Celts and Druids
believed that by wearing masks and costumes, they would confuse the spirits into thinking they were one of them. Therefore
the evil spirits would leave them alone. They would usually wear these while dancing around the big Samhain
"bonfires." During this night of rituals they sacrificed animals (and sometimes humans). Often they wore the skins of these
animals. Dressed in this way, they would engage in fortune telling. Villagers also dressed in hideous masks and costumes in
an effort to disguise themselves from the spirits.
Bobbing For Apples: Since Samhain
was the beginning of the New Year, much divining was done concerning the coming year, and many things
were done to invoke "good luck" (which meant finding favor with the evil spirits) for the coming
year. A very popular form of this was to kneel around a tub of water with apples floating in it, and the first one who could
get one out without using hands or teeth would have good favor with the spirits in the coming year. Then each would
peel his (or her) apple, trying to get the peel off in one piece (which gave the peeling particular power, and gained special
favor with the spirits).
Bonfires: Bonfires originally came from the nights of human and animal sacrifices
where they would throw the remains of the bodies into the fire. The next morning all that was left were the ashes and bones.
Thus the name of these fires was called "bonefires". The orange flames
lit up the black night.
Black
Cats: From the 1500s through the 1700s, during the witch hunts in Europe,
it was thought witches and warlocks flew threw the air to a meeting with the devil (who had by then replaced Samhain,
lord of the dead) on Halloween. Some thought elves, fairies, and witches turned into black cats. Black cats hold a high
significance to witches and Satanists. The black cat, they believe has special powers. To them they believe the black cat
represents incarnated humans, malevolent spirits, or the "familiars" of witches. This is why that many black cats are in danger
around Halloween. Local SPCA's won't even let anyone adopt a black cat around Halloween time, in
fear of the cat might be harmed.
It is well known that Halloween is one of the most
active days for evil and the meeting of Satanists and witches.
Halloween is always a difficult time
for Christians with children, especially young children, who cannot understand why he or she can not dress-up in their favorite
costume characters. When you let your children be involved and associate with
Halloween, you are worshipping and introducing your children to satanic rituals and the occult. “You mean little kids
dressing up, saying ‘trick or treat’ is Satanism, and handing candy out is a modern-day practice of honoring death
and all that is evil? YES!
After
reading the truth on Halloween and what the Bible has to say, why would a Christian parent allow their children to dress up
as witches, monsters, or any other evil representation? Why would they allow their children to go to haunted houses? Why would
they allow their children to go to a Halloween party that plays around with seances, ouija
boards, tarot cards, or watching violent videos? Why would they let their children trick or treat in a neighborhood that has
displays that are intentionally made to be frightening and/or grotesque?
You
know what many parents say, "Because my child will get upset if I don't let them. Their friends will make fun of them". Where
in the Bible does it say that we should allow our children to rule over us? Where in the Bible does it say that we should
allow other people's opinions influence us. I would challenge you to do something constructive with your children this Halloween.
The Holy Bible Reads:
“Train up a child in the way
he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it, Proverbs 22:6 / KJV
“When you enter the land
the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to IMITATE the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no-one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or
sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritualist or who consults the
dead.Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of
these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you; you must be blameless before the Lord
your God.” Deut. 18:9-13 / NIV
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness
